Kim Gray recently asked me to send her some insider tips and tricks for her blog. In all fairness I can’t share these with her and not you.
- Unruly eyebrows? Sprits an eyebrow comb with hair spray and neatly comb your brows into place, the spray will set and hold the shape longer.
- Nipple cream as a lip balm. A best kept secret for keeping lips soft and moisturised all year round, try Bepanthen sold at most pharmacies.
- Blush is not a luxury but a necessity for most, smile and apply a pop of pink colour on the apples of your cheeks, it adds brightness to any face.
- Instead of pumping your mascara wand in and out of the container (this only dries it out quicker) rather twist the wand around from side to side.
- The eyelash curler is a make-up artist’s best friend, curled lashes help open the eyes and create the illusion of fuller longer lashes (especially when paired with lashings of mascara.)
- Smokey eye in 1, 2, 3…
Use an eye pencil in any colour of your choice (my favourites are aubergine, emerald green and bronze) to line the top lash line from corner to corner. Also line under the eye but stop a third of the way along. Smudge with an ear bud and finish with a healthy coating of mascara.

Pics courtesy of Kim Gray - Behind the scenes Oprah magazine editorail
So I have been ploughing through work, knee deep in long hours and weekends (proof of this above). Don’t feel too sorry for me as I do love my job and lately have had the privilege of working on wonderfully creative shoots with inspiring people. Highlights include Dossier Magazine editorial with the lovely Justine Stafford and with the talented Kim Gray for Oprah magazine . Also coming up this week I have a cant-talk-about-yet COVER shoot!

I was honoured to work alongside Marie Claire's Beauty Editor Helen Clemson to create some of the looks for the L'Oreal Beauty Look Book in celebration of L'Oreal's 100th birthday. The very talented Malcolm Dare was behind the lens, capturing each look perfectly. He was also behind the not-my-favourite-thing-in-the-world (to put it mildly) behind the scenes pics. Also working with us was the lovely big-name Make-up artist Linda O'Connell, who has recently joined us from Jozi.
For the full Look Book get your hands on the October issue of Marie Claire, on shelves now. Also email me for any get the look advice or questions - jadeleggat@gmail.com

I’m loving Estee Lauder's Double Wear Lipsticks: Not only do they last ages on the lips (12 hours of staying power) and give brilliant colour (12 different shades to be exact) but they also come in this wicked 80's packaging, got to love it! I’m hooked on 'Stay scarlet.'
